Each sentence is on screen within seconds, with a translation into your language when the meeting is in another one.

Your tasks with owners and due dates come first, then the summary, decisions and a glossary.

Ask across all your meetings and get an answer that links back to the meeting it came from.

Subject: Product weekly, next steps
Beta opens on 14 November.
Alex: release notes by Friday.
One click drafts the follow-up from the note, with decisions and owners, ready to edit or open in Mail.
The yearly toggle is hard to spot.
In online calls, snapshots of the shared screen are matched to what was said, so each comment lands on the right slide.
In the last 5 minutes: the beta moved to 14 November, and the release notes are yours.
“What did I miss?” sums up the last few minutes in one click, so nobody has to repeat themselves.
Client calls, one-on-ones, stand-ups and interviews each get a note that puts the right things first, or write your own.
Thanks, I'll send the pricing table by Friday.
Hold the shortcut and speak to type wherever your cursor is, transcribed on your Mac and free with any account.

No. Gistsmith listens to your Mac's audio and microphone; participants never see a bot. It reminds you to tell participants before you start recording.
While you record, the audio streams from your Mac to Deepgram for the live transcript; Deepgram is asked not to keep it or use it for training. If that isn't available, the live transcript is produced on your Mac instead. When the meeting ends, the audio is passed through our server to ElevenLabs to separate speakers and produce the final transcript; for notes and translation the text goes to Anthropic's Claude model. Our servers don't store audio, or notes unless you turn on AI assistant access; they count the duration and hold the final transcript encrypted, only so it can be re-sent for 2 hours if the connection drops; it is deleted at the next daily cleanup, within about a day. ElevenLabs and Anthropic may keep what they process for a time under their own retention rules (Anthropic deletes it within 30 days). If you turn on “Use screen snapshots in notes”, up to six of the meeting's screen snapshots go to Anthropic along with the transcript when the note is written, and up to three with an Ask question about that part of the meeting; otherwise snapshots never leave your Mac. The privacy policy has the details.
You can speak in 35 languages, including English, Finnish and Turkish, and get notes and live translations in 37. You choose the language of your notes and translations, whatever language was spoken. The app itself is available in 12 languages: English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified) and Finnish. It follows your Mac's language, and you can pick another one in Settings › General.
Yes. Turn on “In person” before you start, and the Mac's microphone records everyone in the room. You can also import an audio or video file, such as a recorded call or a voice memo, and get the same transcript and note; an imported file counts as a meeting.

Set up in a minute, then just start listening.
